The Chicago Bulls got a bit of a scare this past week as it appeared that their star player Derrick Rose was starting to grow distant from the team, as his refusal to help out in the recruiting of free agents was a sticking point for the front office and was what apparently led to the big rift with the team.

More from Chicago Bulls

According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, Rose has now backpedaled on the reports of a rift between himself and the Bulls, which is something that fans will be happy to hear. In fact, Rose apparently spoke dire

"“He [Reinsdorf] told me don’t worry about it, just stay focused and, like I said, it’s the past. It’s funny just hearing so many stories about what’s going on, and they’re coming out of, like, kind of nowhere, so it’s funny to hear about them, but it’s nothing that’s going on.’’"

The last thing the Bulls need is for Rose to go all Kevin Love on them and grow distant from the team. While Rose is naturally a reclusive superstar, his not helping out his own team is clearly something he needs to work on, even if there’s not beef between the Bulls and Rose moving forward.
