Sassing an umpire is going to get you ejected every time, but at least when A.J. Burnett gets run for running his mouth at an ump, he does it with a little style.

More from MLB

Burnett was tossed by umpire Chris Guccione on Saturday after the two disagreed about Guccione’s strike zone. Ryne Sandberg also got run after he came out to defend his pitcher but no one cares because Sandberg sucks.

After the game Burnett revealed exactly what he said to Guccione that pissed off the umpire so completely. It’s classic:

I can’t imagine why Guccione would ring Burnett up for that. Burnett was just trying to be helpful, throwing a demonstration pitch so Guccione could calibrate his strike zone accordingly. That umpire is a little bit of an ingrate if you ask me.

BTW, why is Ryne Sandberg still bothering to come out and defend his pitchers? It’s over for him. He should just hit the rocking chair.
