The Toronto Raptors, fresh off a playoff appearance are looking to improve off their solid 2013-14 campaign. They’ve already re-signed a few of their key free agents and look poised to take the next step.

Of course, to do so they’ll likely need a few more additions to their bench and those could come at the expense of both Landry Fields and Chuck Hayes.

That’s the word from Doug Smith who says the Toronto Raptors front office is looking to move one or both of the players in a trade.

"I know they wouldn’t mind trying to find a taker for Chuck Hayes (possible given his expiring contract) or Landry Fields (less likely but more desirable) if they could turn either of those two guys into younger versions of themselves but I don’t imagine anything happens on the trade front until the free agency period shakes out league-wide."

While the Toronto Raptors may want to trade Landry Fields and Chuck Hayes, it may not be that easy.

Between the two, it’s likely that Fields will bring back the better return despite being paid about $1 million more than Hayes as he’s the more talented of the two players. As for Hayes, just like Fields, his contract will expire after this season so the fact that both are expiring is a nice plus. However, getting anything of value for either player is a serious question mark.

Still, neither is part of the Raptors future and Toronto would be best served moving on from both players if they can nab anything worth value in a trade.
