The future of Greg Monroe seems like it’s going to keep him in the city of Detroit as there aren’t any offer sheets coming in for the big man and the Pistons aren’t actively shopping him in a sign and trade.

More from Detroit Pistons

One team that has shown an interest in Monroe are the Phoenix Suns, but their interest is clouded by the fact that the Pistons are not letting Monroe go under any circumstances whatsoever.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Suns can make an offer to Monroe but they know it will be matched and any sign and trade offer made would be too low for the Pistons liking.

"Suns have the same problem the Bucks do with Bledsoe… anything Greg would sign the Pistons would match. The Suns don’t have the space to just sign him to a crazy deal, and Detroit would want a ton in exchange for a sign and trade with Monroe."

Monroe will likely have to sit around in Detroit for another season and either learn to love the Pistons or learn to live with them until he can bolt next season and go wherever he wants. There is no doubt interest in Monroe, including from the Suns and Atlanta Hawks, but the Pistons aren’t going to let him go for just nothing and they’re not going to let an offer get past them that they won’t match.
