“Show me the money!”

Contract years are the most important years in a player’s career.  Although winning a championship is the main priority for a team and every player, professional sports is still a cutthroat business, and if you’re not as good as the year before and your contract is up, you could be gone.

Some players can play well throughout their entire contract while others play well in parts.

Some of the latter usually wait until their last year to play their best on the field in hopes to get a big contract extension with their current team, or to get a big pay day in free agency.  This piece is dedicated to them.

Players like Darren McFadden, Jason Pierre-Paul and Hakeem Nicks have to have career years in 2014 if they’re going to get the big payday they are looking for.  Let’s take a look at who to watch for in 2014.
