Joba Chamberlain hits Derek Jeter, feels bad (Video)
By Dan Zinski
We are fairly certain that Joba Chamberlain was not trying to go after Derek Jeter when he plunked Jeter on the elbow in the tenth inning of Tuesday night’s Tigers-Yankees game. Chamberlain drill Jeter in a tie game in extra innings? He plays for Detroit, not Arizona.

You can tell by Chamberlain’s reaction that he was upset about hitting Jeter. They used to be teammates of course, and as far as I know there was never any bad blood between the two of them. Plus, the game was in Yankee Stadium. Even though Joba no longer plays for the Yankees, he still wants the fans to like him.
Joba isn’t out there trying to be a heel in front of Yankee fans. He certainly wasn’t trying to prematurely end Derek Jeter’s farewell season by nailing him on the elbow. My God, how horrible would that be? Chamberlain would be the worst guy ever if that happened.
I wouldn’t even pitch inside on Jeter, I’d keep everything outside. It’s just not worth it, I don’t care what the score is.
