No one was ever scrappier on the basketball court than former Ohio State point guard Aaron Craft. And there are some who would argue that no one was ever more overrated.

Overrated or not, Aaron Craft is getting his shot in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors have signed the former Buckeye to a partially-guaranteed contract and invited him to training camp. Craft played with the Warriors’ summer league team this year after going undrafted.
The only question now is, will Dan Dakich move to California just so he can be close to his admitted man crush?
Speaking of man-crushes, Steve Kerr also is a big fan of Craft, which explains the Warriors picking him up. As a scrappy guy himself, Kerr can certainly appreciate the grit, guts and heart Craft allegedly brings to the basketball court.
Now can Craft actually develop a consistent shot? That’s the question. I don’t think a willingness to incur floor burns is going to be enough in the NBA. Craft will throw his body around, we know that. But the NBA ain’t the Big Ten.
Craft doesn’t have to worry anyway. If he flames out in the NBA, Dan Dakich has a place for him to crash. They can make popcorn and sit up all night watching Craft’s game film from Ohio State. Hey Aaron, remember that time the announcers gushed all over you and then you made a stupid play late in the game and then came back and made a great pass and everyone forgot about the stupid play?
He’s so so scrappy.
