Teddy Bridgewater struggles a bit in NFL debut for Minnesota Vikings
By Jack Crosby
Friday night the Minnesota Vikings opened their 2014 preseason with a game against the Oakland Raiders, meaning this would be the first look that we would get at rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Matt Cassel started the game for the Vikings, but undoubtedly all eyes would be on the young man whom the team traded back into the first round for this past May.

Well after Cassel was done with his night, it was time for Bridgewater to have his turn. And after it was all said and done, it wasn’t terrible, however it could have maybe gone a lot better for the rookie out of Louisville.
All in all, Bridgewater finished the night just 6-of-13 for 49 yards, and he was sacked twice. He had no touchdowns and no interceptions.
He had his good moments and he had his bad moments, but just judging off of one preseason outing, you can definitely see that Cassel is the definitive leader to start the season.
But, this is what the preseason is for. Bridgewater will get more chances to shine in the next few weeks and show that he has what it takes to hold the reins of this Vikings offense.
