Last year the Dolphins allowed a league high 58 sacks as the offensive line struggled each and every game. The offseason saw the Dolphins acquire key talent from free agency and the draft to restructure the entire offensive line from the ground up.
This past friday night the new offense under first year coordinator Bill Lazor got it’s first opportunity to show off what they have been working on in practice when they took on the Atlanta Falcons in the first week of the preseason.
The Dolphins first drive could not have gone any smoother for the team as they marched down the field in 10 plays, racking up 73 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Tannehill was unscathed as the offensive line gave him time in the pocket resulting in a 6/6, 62 yards, and a touchdown stat line for Tannehill.
After Sunday afternoon’s practice, Lazor spoke with the media regarding Tannehill’s first performance with the new offense.
Although the first offense was only given one drive, fans can hold on to the hope that they caught a glimpse of a potent Dolphins offense for the upcoming regular season.
