My wife always asks me why a grown man, which she assumes I am, would take a baseball glove to a Major League Baseball game. Sadly enough, I don’t quite have a satisfactory answer.  Maybe it’s because I always wanted to walk away with an official MLB game ball as a kid.  I guess it is my way of hanging on to some fleeting fantasy of childhood while staring down a head-on collision with the freight train known as middle age.

More from Chicago White Sox

Or it could be to protect yourself, or others around you.  Just like this Seattle fan did after Chicago White Sox right fielder

Dayan Viciedo

hit a scorching line drive foul down the left field line.  This man was prepared.  He was so prepared that he managed to do this without spilling his fries on any of his neighbors.

That, folks, is the epitome of ‘grace under fire’.

This fan and his fellow Seattle brethren are not only enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the Pacific Northwest, but they are also getting to see the hometown Mariners with a 3-0 lead after trade deadline acquisition Austin Jackson cleared the bases with a double in the bottom of the second inning.

Enjoy those fries, man!  You’ve earned them!
