With the first week of the NFL preseason out of the way, most teams are back at practice today tweaking and drilling to improve in every aspect before next week’s preseason affair.

More from Miami Dolphins

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened up the preseason this past friday evening against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ultimately the Buccaneers lost the game 16-10 as they struggled on offense throughout the game.

The defense was not much better for the Buccaneers, but they did allow only one touchdown from the Jaguars offense.

As the Buccaneers hit the practice field this afternoon, there is no doubt that every player was looking to improve from friday night’s performance. In one of the best plays of today’s practice, defensive back Leonard Johnson picked off backup quarterback Mike Glennon and took the interception to the house for 6.

Check out the play of the day in the Vine below:

The defense will need to continue to make big plays for the team if they hope to improve from last years deplorable 4-12 season. With the offense having some issues going into the season, the defense will be relied upon heavily.

The Buccaneers return to the field next weekend as they take on the Miami Dolphins at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.
