NFL Trade Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers intersted in acquiring Alex Boone
By Josh Hill
The San Francisco 49ers are looking like they might have to trade embattled offensive lineman Alex Boone, as he’s holding out for a new deal he just isn’t getting at the moment.

That means a trade is likely going to be explored by the 49ers and there have been multiple teams mentioned as being interested in a deal. According to NFL.com, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are indeed one of the teams interested in trading for Boone, but they’re only going to consider such a deal at the right price.
"NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, via a person informed of the Bucs thinking, there is real interest in a Boone trade at the right price.Another Buccaneers source tells Rapoport there have been no “real” conversations with the 49ers yet, but the front office touches base with all teams to discuss who might be available."
As is pointed out by Chris Wesseling from NFL.com, the Buccaneers are building a young team and are doing so through the draft, which means the veteran Boone doesn’t fit the young image for the team and the draft picks he’d cost are something the Bucs want to shy away from.
Still, picking up Boone would be a huge boost the offensive line and would add veteran balance in the locker room. It’s not a done deal, but the Bucs have typically gotten what they wanted this offseason, which means sights being set on Boone could lead to resolution soon.
