The Minnesota Vikings may finally have figured out their quarterback situation as they have a healthy battle going on between Matt Cassell and Teddy Bridgewater, but there’s an odd man out in that battle who could be looking at his final days in a Vikings uniform.

More from Minnesota Vikings

According to Tom Pelissero of USA Today, Christian Ponder has acknowledged that Minnesota may not be the place for him or his career, and is open to the idea that he could be traded before the seasons starts in September.

"“If something happens – I get traded, or there’s an opportunity elsewhere to play – I want to play,” Ponder said. “But this is where I am right now. I can’t control it.”"

It’s not a given that Ponder will be traded before the season starts, but it’s looking like he very well could be on the move one way or another. Trades have been hard to come by this summer for the NFL as players like Chris Johnson, Darrelle Revis and other stars of the game haven’t been able to be traded, which means that it could be difficult for the Vikings to get anything back for a guy everyone knows they’re likely to cut before the season starts anyways.
