Percy Harvin is healthy this season and relatively happy, and indications are that the Seahawks receiver could be in for a huge season. At least that is the impression the Seahawks would like to convey.

More from NFL

Harvin himself says that his body feels great and his legendary speed is not only back, it’s better than ever:

"“You have no idea,” Harvin said through a smile when presented with the what-a-difference-a-year-makes scenario. “My body is feeling tremendously good. I’ve actually reached some gears that I didn’t know I had. I’m feeling very, very fast right now.”"

The fact that Harvin is even practicing at all is a triumph for the Seahawks. I don’t need to tell you, Harvin doesn’t like to practice. Harvin would rather stick his entire head in molten steel than practice playing football.

Because, you know, learning routes…that’s not really necessary for Harvin. Just give him the ball and let him make plays.

If Harvin is truly faster than ever, then teams around the NFL are going to be in for a frightening experience. The last time Harvin was healthy, early in 2012 with the Vikings, he played at a near-MVP level. If he approaches that level again, Russell Wilson and the Seahawks will be very pleased indeed.

It’s a big “if” though. Harvin’s body tends to break down, and his style of play doesn’t exactly help the situation. Right now, everything is fine. Harvin is happy and the Seahawks love him. Get back to me in October on this one.
