Kevin Durant completed the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and money for ALS after being challenged by Steve Nash and J.R. Smith.

He issued a challenge to some of his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates, including Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins.

The reigning NBA MVP had one more person to nominate for the challenge that is sweeping the Internet and the world for a tremendous cause and that would be none other than LeBron James.

This is great to see so many high-profile athletes in the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB in addition to plenty of celebrities and media members take the challenge to help fight a disease that currently has no cure.

With every person taking up the challenge we are one step closer toward finding better ways to treat the disease and one day eradicating this deadly disease with a cure.

Some have scoffed at the notion that dumping ice water on their body is not the best way to raise awareness for a disease, but those people probably felt the same way about wearing pink hats for breast cancer or blue for prostate cancer awareness.

Any little thing can have a big impact and people personally affected by this disease will tell you the same thing.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has generated millions of dollars for research and after Lebron accepts his challenge, hopefully millions more people will see him and the word will continue to be spread about how others can help fight ALS.
