When the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Denard Robinson, it seemed as if they weren’t sure exactly what to do with the enigma. They weren’t alone in such a sentiment as it was said some passed on the explosive talent during the NFL draft because of it.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville all but admitted that they were at a loss to Denard Robinson’s position after they listed him as an ‘offensive weapon’ on their depth chart, though they had hoped to work him into some type of position last year.

Needless to say, the transition period from college to the NFL wasn’t exactly the easiest for Denard Robinson but through two preseason games, the former Michigan quarterback looks to be figuring out life in the NFL and could be seeing more playing time as the season grows on.

In fact, John Oehser believes the Jacksonville Jaguars are planning a bigger role for Denard Robinson.

"You know what? As you filter through the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 20-19 loss to the Chicago Bears in the second game of the 2014 preseason, that indeed is one of the things that stands out – that Denard Robinson appears to be playing his way into a larger role…Robinson also worked some at kickoff returner Thursday, an indication that the Jaguars are comfortable enough with Robinson to again start working him into various roles to take advantage of his speed and playmaking ability."

While he still may not have a true position, a football player is a football player. If you can play, a team will find a position or role for you and if Robinson continues to impress, he’ll certainly be in line to see more playing time as the season continues on.
