The Anthony Davis experiment has been a beautiful thing.

With some of the bigger name stars out, the 2012 number one overall pick has been tasked with a bigger role and he’s yet to back down from that as Team USA faced off against Brazil in an exhibition matchup.

Not only is the big man scoring and defending, but he’s proving that hustle is just as important as any other facet of the game as he dives into the crowd to save a loose ball.

This is what leaders do. Not only do they lead by example on offense and defense, but they encourage their teammates to do the little things that role players are often expected to do during game.

Of course, there’s the injury scare. After all that’s happen in the last few weeks in regards to personnel for Team USA, it was a bit scary to see Davis put his body in harms way to continue a possession. If Davis is forced out of FIBA competition, Team USA is likely barbecue chicken unless DeMarcus Cousins can heal expeditiously and put on a showing that only Shaquille O’Neal in his prime could replicate and Andre Drummond turns into the 2014 version of Dwight Howard.

Fortunately Davis was healthy following the dive and he helped lead Team USA to a victory over a frontcourt heavy Brazil team.
