While the Miami Heat have all but decided to back away from re-signing Michael Beasley, there are still teams out there with interest. One such suitor are the Los Angeles Lakers who’ve already worked Beasley out though are said to prefer a non-guaranteed contract offer given their desire to have open cap room.

Micheal Beasley meanwhile is aiming to secure a guaranteed contract and continues to look at other options. That’s not to say he won’t eventually sign with the Lakers, especially given both were reportedly happy with his July workout, but for now he’s looking for the cash.
It remains to be seen if any team will be willing to invest such in Michael Beasley, though the former Kansas State product is said to desire a rebuild of his image and game.

Michael Beasley, a former No. 2 overall pick has of course disappointed in just about every place he’s played in the NBA. More than that though, he has frustrated teammates (like LeBron James) with his lack of focus and poor decision making.
All that said, Beasley is a much improved player from his early days and brings more of a veteran presence to the court at this stage of his career. He still has his blunders and it’s hard to think they’ll ever change as you can’t change the spots on a leopard, so any team signing him will have to deal with his warts.
He does come with some advantages though which include his ability to score in bunches, a much needed asset off NBA benches.
