The Washington Redskins are looking for a big improvement from second-year cornerback David Amerson, who is currently battling it out for a starting spot opposite veteran DeAngelo Hall.

Things seem to be going well for Amerson so far, at least judging by these remarks from Redskins coach Jay Gruden about what Amerson needs to do in order to be good (via CSNWashington.com):

"“He’s just got to translate it on the field,” he said. “We’ll see how he does, but he’s definitely got all of the tools of being a great corner. Now it’s a matter of going out and doing it, but you do see a different swag about him, like I said before. He looks good to me right now.”"

Amerson didn’t have the swag going last year when he was giving defensive coordinator Jim Haslett fits as a rookie, but the swag is coming up now for Amerson.

The cornerback is now in a swag territory that looks good to Jay Gruden, and confidence is rising that the swag will translate into Amerson becoming a solid cornerback for the Redskins.

Swag is great, but you also need to prove it on the field. And when you’ve proven it, you can let your swag hang out a little bit more. But you don’t want to let it hang out too much or you become Justin Bieber.

Some people are too swaggy for their own good. You need just the right amount of swag to get over.
