The Western Conference is always impossible to predict as teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers — just to name a few — have risen to the top of the popularity chart in basketball and have done so through talent alone.

More from Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are crazy talented as well, but less popular in the conference. However, popular on a national level or not, the Grizz are a team that needs to be watched closely in 2014-15.

According to Steve Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Memphis Grizzlies are going to be a hot team that could be scary good this year if all goes well.

"The Grizz were one of the better teams down the stretch after Marc Gasol came back… if healthy they are scary good."

Kyler also thinks the additions of rookies Jordan Adams out of UCLA and Jarnell Stokes out of Tennessee could end up being important pieces to the team by mid-season.

"I lobe the addition of Jordan Adams and Jarnell Stokes — by mid-season I think both play big roles for the Grizz."

Both players should surprise the teams that passed on them and should help make the Grizzles great for the next few years. IF Gasol is healthy and Zach Randolph is playing his best, then the Grizzlies are dangerous in the West but it’s always impossible to peg a favorite.

Still, Memphis is a team to watch and for good reason.
