The Arizona Cardinals were dealt a crushing blow on Monday night with the news that defensive tackle Darnell Dockett, arguably one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL, would be lost for the season with a torn ACL. With so little time left before the season, the team needed to seek veteran free agent help, and they did so by bringing in former Pittsburgh Steelers lineman Brett Keisel on Tuesday.

However, although signing Keisel would be a move that makes a lot of sense on paper, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com is reporting that it’s very unlikely that Keisel will be joining the Cardinals in the NFC West this season.

Again, this was a move that made a lot of sense, and when it was first reported on Tuesday, there were very few people that seemed to be against it, Cardinals fans on twitter included.

But for one reason or another, they’re going to choose not to go that route, and explore their options elsewhere.

While this is bad news for Cardinals fans, Steelers Nation is rejoicing right now, as they still hold out hope their team will bring back one of the most popular stars they’ve had in the last decade.
