One place the Heat need depth is defensively and that’s something that has the team looking at veteran big men that are still on the market.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Heat have shown an interested in adding rotational bigs and that has the team looking at possibly signing veterans Emeka Okafor or Ekpe Udoh with their veteran minimum cap space.

"Among power rotation players, the Heat has shown interest in Emeka Okafor and has considered Ekpe Udoh. The Heat can only offer a free agent the veteran minimum and while Jordan Crawford seems like a great fit, he may be intersted in a bit more. Okafor and Udoh are farther a long in their careers and don’t have as much time to turn things back around, which is why signing for the minimum isn’t that big of a deal.
