Pittsburgh Steelers running backs Le’Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount were arrested on Wednesday afternoon for marijuana possession. Both players will receive summons for the charges, but they are both in Philadelphia for tonight’s Week 3 preseason meeting with the cross-state rival Eagles.

Bell is also facing DUI charges.

Blount joined the Steelers on their charter flight to Philadelphia, while Bell made his way across the state on his own following the arrest.

The Steelers have not commented on the situation since a brief statement on Wednesday night. Neither Pittsburgh nor the NFL have said whether or not either running back is facing a possible suspension.

Now that both players are with the team for tonight’s meeting with the Eagles, there is a chance that they could both suit up and take the field while the legal process plays itself out.

Of course, the Steelers could decide to discipline both players on their own, but at this time it is still unclear whether or not they will be playing in tonight’s game.

At this point, their status is unclear.

Week 3 is the most important game of the preseason for starters, so it would obviously be a huge boost to the Steelers to have Bell and Blount on the field to continue building chemistry with the first-team offense.

We will continue to update you on the situation as more information becomes available.
