The New York Mets have a short season Single-A team called the Brooklyn Cyclones.

In a word, the Brooklyn Cyclones are awesome. Perhaps more accurately, the Cyclones have a killer marketing and P.R. department that knows how to generate interest and get fannies in the seats.

During the same season in which the Cyclones have a Beach Party that will have a number of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models in attendance, they are also having a ’90s night that is sponsored by Nickelodeon.

At that game, Kel Mitchell, he of “Good Burger” and “Keenan and Kel” fame, will throw out the first pitch. As if that weren’t enough, the Brooklyn Cyclones will wear these jerseys.

Gimmick jerseys such as these can be hit or miss. Often one’s perception of such jerseys depends on personal experience. When it comes to the many children of the 1990s, these jerseys are sure to be a hit. The lettering, the coloring, and the slime itself are all spot on, complete with the slime running down the back of the jersey.

To show their full commitment to ’90s night, the Cyclones also did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in the spirit of their upcoming event. That’s right: instead of ice water, they got slimed for a good cause.

Seriously, how great are the Brooklyn Cyclones?
