Jabari Davis of Basketball Insiders was asked if Atlanta Hawks’ free agent power forward Elton Brand or Milwaukee Bucks’ free agent Ekpe Udoh would be a good fit in the front court but Davis believes the Cavaliers are “pretty fully in the front court” and would only sign one of those players should they get hit hard by injuries.
"The Cavs seem to be pretty full in the frontcourt with Love/Varejao/Thompson/Haywood and several other young bigs. I would imagine they’d consider that route if there were to get hit by the injury bug, but otherwise they are pretty full up front."
Brand, who flirted with retiremnt, averaged 5.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 assists per game while shooting 53.9% from the field and 64.9% from the free throw line last season. Brand has averaged 16.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 blocks per game. He’s shot 50.1% from the floor and 73.7% from the charity stripe in his 15-year career. Udoh averaged 3.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 block per game while shooting 39.9% from the field and 63.8% from the free throw line last season. He played in 41 games. In his four-year NBA career, he has put up 4.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 42.8% from the field and 71.8% free throw line.
