The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to be trading Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers this weekend but the deal that has been in place for the better part of a month hasn’t yet been announced.
But in a stroke of media revenge, the newspapers have struck back against the ever fluid world of reporting news on the internet and breaking stories on Twitter by scooping everyone and beating the digital age to the punch.
The Sunday editions of the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press have been printed and sent out for distribution, and in each of them is an ad that welcomes Andrew Wiggins, Thaddeus Young and Anthony Bennett to the team.

The trade is going to happen, so this isn’t a scoop in the traditional sense, but it hasn’t yet been announced to the world. But the Star Tribune knows what’s up in the world of Timberwolves basketball and while the announcement was inevitable, we can chalk this up as a small win for the newspaper industry.
