Free-spirited Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has inspired one dog owner to christen their mutt Yasiel Pug. On Saturday, Yasiel Puig finally came face-to-face with his canine namesake.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Or should I say, tongue-to-tongue.

Much like Yasiel Puig, Yasiel Pug enjoys running around aimlessly on the grass. Unlike Puig, Pug has not yet learned how to flip a bat.

Lack of arms will make it difficult for Pug to ever master the art of bat flipping, but you know that if he was physically capable of bat flipping, he would bat flip.

And you know that if Puig were physically capable of licking his own balls, he would lick his own balls. We would all lick our balls if we could. Don’t even bother denying it.

When it comes to canine mascots, I’m going to have to take Yasiel Pug over Hank the Dog. Hank the Dog is cute but he’s a little too wholesome for my tastes.

Yasiel Pug has a little attitude. I like attitude. I like a dog with a blue mohawk.
