While the Detroit Pistons attempt to sort out their problems with Greg Monroe, it’s another big man in the organization who is making noise this offseason and it’s for all the right reasons.

More from Detroit Pistons

Pistons big man Andre Drummond finished the 2013-14 season in a flurry and his success has continued during the offseason as the former UConn product was named to Team USA.

Thought to be rather ‘raw’ coming out of college, many viewed the Detroit Pistons selection of Andre Drummond as a mistake though he’s continually proven the doubters wrong and is quickly emerging as a franchise building block.

Even more impressive? Many believe he’ll take an even larger leap to stardom this season, including Steve Kyler who suggests Andre Drummond could make a big jump from where he was last year.

Of course, what happens with the Greg Monroe situation will likely play in to just how successful of a season Andre Drummond has considering the two often played off each other, though Andre Drummond can certainly hold his own if push came to shove.

Still just 21-years-old, Andre Drummond has quickly emerged as one of the better big men in the league and while he could use a little more polish on the offensive side of the ball, he’s proven to be a force on defense.

All the Pistons need to do now is surround the former UConn star with talent that meshes with his game and watch the wins pile up.
