It appears that free agent forward Michael Beasley knows he is running out of chances in the NBA.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

A former No. 2 overall pick, Beasley has been nothing short of a bust during his career. Even worse, his desire and motivation has continually been questioned which has placed a stigma on the former Kansas State product. But with his options running dry, it’s been said that Michael Beasley has recommitted himself to rebuilding his career.

He is apparently in good shape and working hard to improve both his game and persona which has intrigued a few teams like the Indiana Pacers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Earlier this offseason the Lakers worked Beasley out and allegedly liked what they saw, however not wanting to eat up any cap space, Los Angeles was only willing to offer a small, likely non-guaranteed contract. Wanting more, Michael Beasley decided to wait to see if he could secure a more lucrative offer but Steve Kyler says the two sides will speak again.

Of course, speaking again doesn’t necessarily mean that the two sides will be able to agree upon a contract though both sides do appear to have interest in each other.

It could be that the former Miami Heat forward is simply waiting to see if there are any injuries during training camp which would open up a potential job for him, but he may not want to wait too long because the Lakers interest could eventually die down.
