When a star player enters the league as a rookie and stars at their position, we only begin to know them solely for their one big talent.

For example, we know Michael Vick because he is one of the fastest quarterbacks in the history of the game and we know his new teammate Chris Johnson for the same reason: speed.

Guys like Troy Polamalu and LaRon Landry are known for their big hits while receivers like Anquan Boldin and Hakeem Nicks are known for being two of the best possession receivers in the game.

But is it fair to judge a player now for how he was in the past?  Obviously with age, and the wear and tear of a player’s body in the NFL, players change over time.  They slow down, they’re not as explosive, and overall, they’re not what they used to be.

This list is comprised of the top 10 players in the NFL living on their past reputation.
