Nobody really knows what the Boston Celtics plan to do with point guard Rajon Rondo, who can become an unrestricted free agent at season end.

Might the Boston Celtics attempt to trade him in effort to get some type of asset in return? Or will they risk allowing him to walk for free in an attempt to re-sign him to a long term deal? Ask a variety of different people and you’re bound to get a different answer nearly every time, so it’s clear that even the Celtics may not know what they plan to do with Rondo moving forward.
What’s known is that the former Kentucky product can rub people the wrong way, both on and off the court.
While extremely talented, Rajon Rondo has routinely had his personality traits questioned, including during a recent interview with Celtics Blog as ESPN’s Jeff Goodman suggested many see him as a poor leader and teammate.
“He doesn’t show much leadership ability, more often than not makes the flashy pass rather than the simple one, has not improved his perimeter shot – and doesn’t appear to care about being a great teammate (as some of his former coaches will attest to off the record).”
It’s a little odd to see a player so talented as Rajon Rondo constantly finding himself the subject of trade rumors, but that has been the case for the All-Star for the past three or four seasons. Might this be a reason as to why? Or is there more than meets the eye with the continued talk of Rondo’s questionable personality?
