This Royals fan got creative about expressing his feelings for retiring Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, and the result is about the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen on a ball park sign.

More from MLB

What is that monstrosity??? Derek Jeter as the Mona Lisa???

Da Vinci just turned over in the cryogenic tube the aliens put him in after beaming him onto their ship from his death bed.

BOB DYLAN REFERENCE ALERT: Derek Jeter must have had the highway blues, you can tell by the way he smiles???

Okay Royals fan, we get it, you respect Derek Jeter. That’s great, but did you have to desecrate an art masterpiece in order to make your point?

And if you HAD to desecrate an art masterpiece, couldn’t you have picked one that depicted a male? Now I’m having cross-dressing Jeter thoughts and…they bother me.

A thought occurs to me: Is it possible this Royals fan was trolling a little bit with his Jeter Lisa sign? Was he attempting to comment on the ridiculousness of Jeter hype and the way Jeter is placed on a pedestal by the media as though he were some iconic historical figure?

Or am I giving this guy too much credit?
