The St. Louis Rams were the team to step up and give Missouri Tigers defensive end Michael Sam a shot in the NFL. Sam has been impressive when given chances in the preseason and certainly looks worthy of a roster spot on an NFL franchise, though unfortunately for Sam the Rams are deep at that position.

More from Los Angeles Rams

On Tuesday, Josina Anderson did a segment on ESPN’s SportsCenter live from Rams camp. In the segment she discussed Michael Sam’s showering habits with his Rams teammates when discussing how he is fitting in. Anderson said that defensive tackle Kendall Langford said Sam was just “one of the guys.”

Then Anderson added: “But another Rams defensive player told me that ‘Sam is respecting our space.’ From his perspective, he seems to think that Michael Sam is waiting to kind of take a shower, so as not to make it teammates feel uncomfortable.”

Anderson circles back to Langford to say that he acknowledged not having been in the shower with Sam but clarified that “there definitely could be a million reasons as to why that is.” And adding: “He could be doing extra work on the practice field, he could be riding his bike, he could be doing extra cardio — but overall Langford said he seems to be adjusting to the life of the NFL and the speed of the game.”
