Dimitri Patterson mysteriously skipped out on the Jets last Friday, and now the cornerback has been suspended indefinitely by the team while they try to figure out why he went AWOL.

More from New York Jets

Patterson’s teammate Willie Colon isn’t that concerned about the whys and hows of Patterson’s brief disappearance, he only cares about the team (via NJ.com):

"“I think it’s more of his issue,” said right guard Willie Colon. “I think the team is in good spirits right now. We’re excited about getting ready to start the season. I think right now, we understand that we have a good thing with us, and if somebody is not willing to be on the train with us, then maybe they just need to be left behind and we move on.”“I don’t know enough about him or his situation to really speculate about it. It’s weird, but it’s his situation. We’ve got bigger fish to fry right now.”"

It doesn’t seem that Patterson can expect a ton of sympathy from his Jets teammates after the way he left them in the lurch Friday night.

You can sort of understand where guys like Colon are coming from. Why should they give a darn about Patterson when he showed he didn’t give a darn about them?

Patterson could be going through some dark stuff right now for all we know, but like Colon said, that’s his issue. The rest of the Jets have to concentrate on getting ready for that football season thing coming up.
