The San Antonio Spurs have won each of the last two Western Conference championships, falling just short of winning the NBA title in 2013, losing a seven-game series to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals before avenging their loss with a dominating five-game series win over the Heat in June.

More from Los Angeles Clippers

That’s why it should come as no surprise the Spurs are the favorites to win the west once again.

Our friends at Bovada have been kind enough to send over their latest odds.

Odds to win 2015 Western Conference

San Antonio Spurs                    9/4

Oklahoma City Thunder              3/1

Los Angeles Clippers                11/2

Dallas Mavericks                       8/1

Houston Rockets                      8/1

Golden State Warriors               10/1

Portland Trailblazers                  20/1

Memphis Grizzlies                     25/1

Los Angeles Lakers                   33/1

Denver Nuggets                        40/1

New Orleans Pelicans                40/1

Phoenix Suns                            40/1

Minnesota Timberwolves            75/1

Sacramento Kings                     125/1

Utah Jazz                                  125/1

Coming in behind the Spurs are the Oklahoma City Thunder and Los Angeles Clippers, who had the second and third best records in the NBA last season. The Thunder defeated the Clippers in the second round of the postseason in six games before falling to the Spurs in six. The Portland Trail Blazers were the fourth team in the Western Conference semi-finals but two teams, including the team the Blazers knocked out of the playoffs, the Houston Rockets, and the Golden State Warriors, have far better odds.

In what seems somewhat strange, the 48-34 Phoenix Suns have worse odds than the Los Angeles Lakers, who finished with the sixth-worst record in the league last season and lost Pau Gasol.

Per these odds, the Dallas Mavericks are the big winner. They were the eighth-seed last season and now they have 8/1 odds to win the conference.
