NFL Rumors: Richard Sherman fight keyed Seattle Seahawks investigation
By Cory Buck
Sources have indicated that a minicamp practice in June between cornerback Richard Sherman and wide receiver Bryan Walters may have spurred a league investigation into the contact taking place in Seattle Seahawks practices, which violated NFL rules and resulted in huge fines levied against the team and head coach Pete Carroll.

Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk writes:
"Per a source with direct knowledge of the situation, the NFLPA started the investigation after reports emerged of a fight at a June 18 practice involving cornerback Richard Sherman and receiver Bryan Walters. Coach Pete Carroll had to stop practice in order to restore order."
The source then described Seattle’s practices as “way too aggressive,” which is in line with what the league felt of the Seahawks defense in general. After Seattle won the Super Bowl this past February in dominating fashion, the league implemented stricter rules regarding contact between defenders and receivers, which Seahawks players have taken as a change directed against their team. Now it appears that even their practices were further scrutinized.
The Seahawks organization and coach Pete Carroll were fined a combined $300,000 and will lose two minicamp days in 2015 as a result of their non-contact practices involving far too much contact.
