Christion Jones is a versatile talent for the Alabama Crimson Tide as one of the best kick and punt returners in the nation who is also capable of making a big play in the passing game.

More from College Football

Jones made a big splash in last year’s season opener against the Virginia Tech Hokies with a touchdown reception, punt return and kick return for a touchdown in last year’s opening win.

However, on Saturday against the West Virginia Mountaineers, Jones let a perfect throw from Blake Sims go right through his fingers as Alabama clinged to a 27-20 lead in the third quarter.

Alabama likely would have had an easy score here if Jones was able to hang onto the ball, but had to settle for a field goal and take three instead of seven points to pad their lead to 30-20.

The drop by Jones had many fans in Atlanta looking like this guy:

Alabama came into this game with high expectations as the No. 2 ranked team in the country, but West Virginia has given them a stiffer test than I think anyone outside of Morgantown, West Virgina would have imagined.
