The Dallas Cowboys have had a interesting run with the defensive end Anthony Spencer. He went from getting slapped with the franchise tag, to being injured and out for most of that season.

He hit the free agent market in the spring, but came back the Cowboys after finding a marginally interested market develop for him. He still was struggling to get healthy ahead of the season and his status for the start of the season was in jeopardy.

Well on the day that NFL teams make their cuts down to the final 53-man rosters, Spencer finally passed a physical clearing his return to the football field.

That also means that the Cowboys won’t be putting him on the physically unable to perform list. Spencer might not be playing right at the start of the season, but had he been put on the PUP list he’d have to miss the first six weeks. This clears the way for him to return sooner.
