Over the last few years, the Stanford Cardinal have become one of the elite programs in college football, appearing in the last two Rose Bowls.
Although there is plenty of talent to replace on both sides of the ball, quarterback Kevin Hogan is back for his redshirt junior season and expectations are high once again.
The Cardinal opened their season with the UC Davis Aggies and Hogan is off to quite the start. Since Ty Montgomery returned a punt 60 yards for a touchdown to opening the scoring, Hogan has tossed four touchdown passes, giving the Cardinal a 38-0 lead at the half.
His third touchdown pass was a 52-yarder to wide receiver Christian McCaffrey, the son of former Denver Broncos’ star Ed McCaffrey.
