There are always trades that almost get made in all professional sports, and the NFL is no stranger to almost-trades.

More from Denver Broncos

Recently Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas came up in regards to a scenario that almost saw him land with a different team as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were trying to trade up to get him back when he came out of Georgia Tech.

According to Alex Marvez from FOX Sports, the Bucs tried to trade up ahead of the Denver Broncos to draft Thomas in 2010 but were unable to do so.

It’s one of those trade situations that very well could have changed a lot of things for an organization over the years but we will never know just how good or bad the Buccaneers would have been had they pulled this off.

One thing that has helped Thomas become even better is the presence of Peyton Manning, and the lack of a quarterback for the Buccaneers these past few years likely would have resulted in Thomas being wasted on the roster.

It’s nice to picture him on the team now, one that has Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans on the roster but they weren’t always there and that’s something to consider when thinking about how much of a game changer Thomas would have been.
