Remember when adding a line or a simple design to a haircut was thought to be revolutionary?

How quickly times can change.

Recently we’ve seen fans honor their favorite team or a special moment in franchise history by immortalizing the logo or score in a haircut design. Of course, unlike a tattoo, it’s temporary and in a few weeks the design will grow out and you won’t even know it was there.

I’m thinking this particular fan may prefer his hair stay relatively short though because his design is nothing short of jaw dropping.

No matter if you’re in to the look or not, you have to respect the ability of the barber (more like artist) who put in the time to create something so intricate as Instagram user ‘crevm’ did for a San Francisco 49ers fan.

Just a few days away from the first kick of the 2014 NFL season, this San Francisco 49ers fan decided to pay homage to Joe Montana and Dwight Clark with ‘The Catch’.

The video, which shows the full progression of the haircut, starts off by showing the outline. After that the color is added which brings the design to life. I mean, just the haircut itself is pretty neat but once the color is included it changes the entire look.

I have to imagine the styling takes quite a bit of time as not only is the cut intricate, but coloring of the hair can take a while. Still, the end result is really impressive and something most fans of the San Francisco 49ers will get a kick out of.
