The Chicago Bulls have one of the more intriguing lineups in basketball this season as Derrick Rose is returning, Pau Gasol has come over and the team is looking like they might actually be capable of making it back to the Eastern Conference Finals.

More from Chicago Bulls

But while the Bulls have had their fair share of missed opportunities in the past few years, the pressure isn’t totally on this year to win. Fans and players will want to win and will hold up that expectation, but it’s not going to be a case where Tom Thibodeau is out of a job if things fail or that this is the last year where the core will be together.

NBA scribe Chuck Myron opines that his isn’t a make or break season for the Chicago Bulls but they shouldn’t take things lightly either.

"It’s an important year, to be sure, and they’ll be gunning for the Eastern Conference title. But they, like Cleveland, have a lot of new parts to fit together, and you might as well count Rose as one of them, since he’s barely played the last two years. I think Chicago will be patient, and there certainly won’t be any panicking if the Bulls start slowly."

Chicago is still a favorite to make it to the Conference Finals to play either the Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers but if they don’t then next year will be the season where things had better happen or the Bulls might explode in the exact opposite way people have been waiting for.
