From Howard Balzer:
It’s not known at the moment what exactly Brown did to earn the lengthy punishment.
Brown was hit with a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy in 2012, but had the ban lifted after appealing.
He said the following at the time about the suspension, according to NFL.com:
"“It was something that I’ve been on since I’ve been in the league, which was Adderall. I just forgot to fill out some paperwork and that was it.”"
NFL teams were told of Brown’s suspension on Thursday, according to Adam Caplan of ESPN.
Brown appeared in eight games this past season with the Giants. He rushed for 492 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and three touchdowns. New York drafted Brown with the No. 129 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Playing with the Denver Broncos and Giants, he has totaled 876 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career.
The Houston Texans signed Brown this offseason, but released him earlier this summer.
The reasoning behind Davis and Henderson’s suspensions have not been released at the moment either.
Henderson racked up 69 tackles this past year with the Minnesota Vikings. Davis appeared in one game last season with the Atlanta Falcons and totaled 34 yards on 5-7 passing.
