The 2013 season for the Florida Gators was derailed in large part because of a plethora of season-ending injuries to key starters and reserves. After their season was delayed one week because of rain that postponed last week’s game against Idaho, the Gators began their season against Eastern Michigan and promptly lost two valuable players on offense.

Florida saw left tackle D.J. Humphries head to the locker room with an apparent ankle injury and was replaced in the lineup with former top recruit David Sharpe who now is responsible for protecting the blindside of quarterback Jeff Driskel.
The extent of Humphries’ injury is unknown at the time but it does not appear to be as severe as the injury to transfer tight end Jake McGee who injured his lower leg after an Eastern Michigan defender rolled up on his leg.
McGee had an air cast placed on his leg and was carted off the field. The Virginia transfer figured to play a prominent role in the offense this year as a complement to Clay Burton at the position.
Gators made it all through camp without any serious injuries. Now, McGee is out and OT D.J. Humphries is out with an apparent ankle.
