While the Miami Heat have completely moved on from Michael Beasley, the Los Angeles Lakers apparently can’t quit the small forward.

The former No. 2 overall pick has worked out for the Lakers twice and while no contract has been offered that doesn’t mean Beasley’s workout’s didn’t go well. In fact, it’s believed Beasley (who is allegedly attempting to shape up this offseason) looked very good. So good, in fact, that he wanted more than a league minimum contract the Los Angeles Lakers were apparently willing to offer.
Wanting to see if he could secure a more financially stable contract, Michael Beasley continues to sit in free agency though according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the forward continues to be an option for the Los Angeles Lakers moving forward.
“The Lakers twice have watched Beasley work out, and they remain a possibility for him,” says Jackson.
In addition to the Lakers, the Indiana Pacers also showed interest in signing Michael Beasley after Paul George suffered his devastating injury, though their interest appeared to be rather limited and it seems as if they’ve moved on.
Such has essentially been the extent of Beasley’s interest around the league, so it seems as if the Los Angeles Lakers may be his best bet moving forward. No, he won’t receive the type of contract he’s looking for but he’s unlikely to find that at all. Los Angeles should give him a decent amount of playing time and significant exposure which is exactly what Michael Beasley needs if he’s to get his career back on track.
