Kobe Bryant returns to Germany for annual knee treatment

In what is becoming a routine procedure, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant has returned to Germany for his annual knee treatment.

From the Kobe Team:

"The reason for Kobe’s latest Munich trip? Kobe is in Germany for a quick visit to see a legend, Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt, who practices medicine opposite Alter Hof, and has reached ”rock star” status in sporting circles.Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt is the club doctor for Bayern Munich, and a world leader in the treatment of sports injuries. Dr. Hans is also known as ”Healing Hans” by many who have sought his care, among them ”The World’s Fastest Man”, Olympic and World Champion Usain Bolt, who has called Dr. Hans, the ”best doctor in the world”."

There’s a lot of buzz around what Kobe Bryant may–or may not–be able to do in the 2014-15 season. The naysayers think he’s ‘washed’ after dealing with consecutive leg injuries (achilles, knee). The supporters think he’ll bounce back from injury like he has any other time in his career.

Odds are Bryant’s play will land somewhere in the middle of each projection. Will he be the player he was before tearing his achilles in a last-season game in 2013? Likely not–last year (despite the general rust) showed us some things just aren’t the same with him physically. Will he be one of the more average shooting guards in the league? That seems unlikely too as Bryant is still a good shooter as well as a high intelligent player–that alone will do wonders for his game.

No one knows for sure, but it’s going to be fun watching. The Lakers likely won’t be good, so one way Bryant can salvage this upcoming season is by showing the world a few injuries don’t stop his show.
