Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Oakland Raiders, Sunday happens. Any Sunday, really.

More from Las Vegas Raiders

Stocked with veteran talent to begin the season, there was hope that the Oakland Raiders would finally turn things around this year. So far though it’s been much of the same and after starting the season 0-2, the panic button is within reach.

Hoping to give rookie quarterback Derek Carr another weapon at his disposal, the Oakland Raiders have been scouring the free agent pool and have reportedly become enamored with wide receiver Vincent Brown who the team plans to work out on Monday afternoon according to ESPN.

"The Oakland Raiders are scheduled to take a look Monday at receiver Vincent Brown, according to an NFL source. It will be Brown’s first workout since being cut by the San Diego Chargers last month. Brown is now healthy after dealing with a calf injury."

Brown has proven himself to be a talented wide receiver in the past, though has dealt with a variety of health issues and become known for his injury history than his on-field play. Still, there’s little harm in the Oakland Raiders giving him a try out.

As to where he’d fit on the roster, it’s doubtful he’d supplant James Jones as he’s developed a solid chemistry with Derek Carr. Outside of James though, it appears as if the Oakland Raiders are open for business at the wide receiver spot so if Vincent Brown can impress, he may find himself on the active roster in the not so distant future.
