Although they play in the best division in football, the NFC West, the St. Louis Rams were hopeful they could make some noise this season.

More from Los Angeles Rams

With perhaps the league’s most talented defensive line and quarterback Sam Bradford returning from injury, they believed they may be able to complete with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals.

That dream may have died rather quickly after Bradford once again tore his ACL in the preseason.

The Rams turned to veteran Shaun Hill in week on but after he completed eight-of-13 passes for 81 yards and an interception, he injured his thigh and was lifted in favor of Austin Davis as the Rams fell to the Vikings 34-6. Davis went 16-of-23 for 192 yards and an interception against the Vikings, then led the Rams to a late field goal to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-17 Sunday. He completed 22-of-29 passes for 235 yards in the win. After the game, Rams’ coach Jeff Fisher maintained that a healthy Hill is the starter.

That may not stop the Rams from adding another quarterback.

According to Field Yates of ESPN.com, the Rams waived defensive tackle Matt Conrath and worked out former Duke Blue Devils and Buffalo Bills quarterback Thaddeus Lewis.

Lewis completed 93-of-157 passes for 1,092 yards with four touchdowns and three interception while rushing for another touchdown for the Buffalo Bills last season.
