Arizona Cardinals release Chris Rainey
By Josh Hill
The Arizona Cardinals are the latest team to be rocked by a domestic abuse incident as running back Jonathan Dywer is in the middle of one of the more disgusting displays of violence against women and children.

But while his absence from the team has opened up a spot in the Cardinals backfield, one man who won’t be getting promoted to that open spot is Chris Rainey. According to Fox Sports reporter Mike Garafolo, the Cardinals will not only be keeping Rainey off their active roster but he’s off the roster altogether.
Garafolo later followed that up with the reason why Rainey wasn’t being promoted.
Rainey, unlike Dywer, didn’t recently do anything wrong but he’s being retroactively punished for his numerous run-ins with domestic violence. Rainey has been kicked off teams before for his actions and while there doesn’t seem to be anything immediately prompting this release, it’s something the Cardinals feel they needed to do as the league continues to purge violent off-field offenders from the sport.
