Boston Bruins GM says Torey Krug and Reilly Smith ‘not going nowhere’
By Cory Buck
The Boston Bruins still have a cap crunch to worry about with just weeks left until the NHL regular season. Don’t tell that to GM Peter Chiarelli though, who seems as composed as ever when he notes that his pending restricted free agents, Torey Krug and Reilly Smith, aren’t going anywhere.

When asked by CSNNE’s Joe Haggerty on their status, Chiarelli gave him this quote:
Rumors have swirled that the Bruins would have to trade one of their coveted veteran defensemen to make room to pay for Krug and Smith, but nothing is definite of course and Chiarelli made it clear he’d enter the season with an unbalanced lineup if it meant having the best possible lineup for Game 1.
The Bruins will start training camp without their young players, but whether or not they finish camp in the same state will depend on what the team can do to free up enough money to pay all respective parties.
